Risk Assessment

Guidelines

These guidelines are here to provide a brief explanation of the differences in Risk Assessment requirements dependent on stand type and activities, and can be used by Shell Scheme and Space Only Exhibitors as well as Contractors.

Method Statement - blank template

The blank template can be used in line with the guidelines to produce your own suitable and sufficient Method Statement for the installation and removal of a stand.

CDM Construction Phase Plan Guidelines

Under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) a Construction Phase Plan is required for every construction project. This does not need to be complicated, and the guidelines here will assist in undertaking this task.

eGuide - AEV

The eGuide was developed by authorised professionals from UK event venues and its status is similar to that of an approved code of practice.

The objective of the eGuide is to provide clear and straightforward guidance for achieving common standards of health, safety, operational planning, management and on-site conduct across UK event venues, whilst ensuring compliance with building regulations and health and safety legislation.

The blank template can be used in line with the guidelines to assist in undertaking a suitable and sufficient Risk Assessment for Shell Scheme and Space Only Exhibitors as well as appointed contractors for the build and dismantle of a stand.

Method Statement - blank template (double deck)

This document is part of the eGuide’s template and a Venue requirement for all two-storey construction.

CDM Construction Phase Template

The blank template can be used in line with the guidelines to create this simple plan before the work starts. This is usually enough to show that you have thought about health and safety, communication requirements and staff welfare.

Method Statement Guidelines

A Method Statement is required to cover the full build and dismantle process of a stand along with details of how the stand is made stable and is an important step in the planning of a safe system of work.

A copy of the Under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations form.

Stand Plan Guidelines

These guidelines are here to provide insight into the detail required to undertake a pre-show audit and fulfil an Exhibitors submission requirements if you've booked a space only stand.
