The Hemming Group is an award-winning B2B publisher and event organiser with a 100 year heritage. The team have worked with ESS since 2015 on Traffex; the UK's largest traffic management, road safety and highway maintenance exhibition and Parkex; Europe's largest, specialist parking exhibition. Most recently, they expanded the partnership to include the Executive Hire Show; their national exhibition for the tools, equipment and plant hire industry.

The exhibition has seen considerable growth over recent years, both in size and complexity, with an increasing number of space only stands and more heavy machinery. Having previously managed stand plan and safety paperwork collation in-house, Head of Operations, Hannah Webb found due to a small team and time constraints this important aspect of the exhibition was becoming more difficult to manage.

Hannah commented; “There is a huge amount of machinery and equipment to schedule delivery of into the show and by appointing ESS as our official stand plan approval company it will allow me to oversee some of the other more complex areas of the  exhibition. Working with ESS takes a huge amount of pressure off my team. They have a great knowledge of so many venues, as well as working with other contractors, which all goes a long way in helping us achieve the best results for our event.”

As the event is at a venue which the ESS team hadn’t worked at before, the first step was a site visit and project kick off meeting. This allowed the ESS team to fully understand the venue, meet with both the Hemming and venue teams and gather all of the key information in advance, meaning they could be self-sufficient once the project began. Their thorough approach means the Hemming team can relax, safe in the knowledge that the stand plans and health and safety documentation is in good hands.

Collaboration and communication is vital to the success of any event, and working with Lianne and Michaela means this is always clear and concise. Their broad client base and in-depth industry knowledge also means they constantly scan the horizon for changes in regulations which organisers need to be aware of. They can offer valuable advice and learnings from other exhibitions to the ESS team. They also work extremely closely with other key suppliers such as Teem services, who also work on the Hemming event portfolio, which makes ways of working even more streamlined.

“I know when I appoint them on an event there is never a stone unturned and their work is extremely thorough,” added Hannah. “They are also lovely people to work with! I always feel they are part of the team and have the same vision as we do as organisers.”
“ESS’s work is invaluable and it will make a huge difference on the EHS exhibition this year and beyond.”
